Understanding Climatic Environmental Testing 

Climatic evaluation helps to determine whether a product can withstand likely temperature and humidity conditions it may encounter during storage, transport or operation. These factors can influence reliability, material stability, electrical performance and product lifespan.

High and Low Temperature Testing 

High and low temperature assessment is carried out using programmable chambers that apply controlled testing temp profiles. These conditions simulate extreme heat, sub-zero cold and rapid changes in temperature to identify mechanical, structural or functional issues. 

This testing is suitable for plastics, metals, defence equipment and consumer products.

Humidity and Moisture Resistance Testing 

Humidity testing examines how products respond to moisture, condensation and high relative humidity cycles. 

At EMC Technologies, our facilities use an environmental test chamber to simulate warm, humid and moisture-saturated environments that can cause corrosion, swelling, leakage, electrical faults or degradation of coatings and materials. 

Our programs include steady state humidity or combined temperature and humidity profiles.

At EMC Technologies, we operate multiple climatic chambers. Our systems can perform combined climate test profiles that integrate temperature cycling, humidity conditioning and extended dwell periods.

Our sites are equipped with calibrated instrumentation, ensuring that our temperature humidity test chamber systems deliver consistent and traceable results.

Melbourne - Equipment specifications:

  • Temperature range: -70°C ~ +180°C
  • Internal chamber size: 1100x950x950(mm)
  • Rate of cooling: 2.5°C/Minute (Note1)
  • Rate of heating: 4°C/Minute (Note2)
  • Humidity range: 10% RH to 98% RH

Note 1 & 2: with an empty chamber in accordance with IEC60068-3-5

Sydney - Equipment specifications:

  • Capacity: 900 x 900 x 800 Width x Height x Depth (mm)
  • Temperature range: -20 ~ +95C with an accuracy of ±2%
  • Humidity range: 30 ~ 95% with an accuracy of R.H. ±2%
